Immigration representatives are professionals who provide advice or consultation on immigration to visa applicants. Candidates may choose to consult with an immigration representative to act on their behalf with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Immigration Québec.

 

According to Immigration Canada, the only immigration representatives with the capacity to request remuneration to represent or advise you on immigration and refugee issues with Immigration Canada and Immigration Québec are immigration consultants, Immigration and Notaries of Quebec:     

 

 * Immigration Consultants are legal members of the CRCIC (Immigration Consultants Regulatory Board of Canada)      

* Immigration Lawyers are legal members of a Canadian corporation under provincial or territorial law     

 * Notaries who are legal members of the Chambre des notaires du Québec

 

The Government of Canada will not deal with unauthorized immigration representatives who are seeking compensation for their services.
